Bytronic Automation are always on the lookout for the latest advancements in technology, and new opportunities to provide a unique level of service to our customers. That is why Bytronic are proud to announce that they have now become the first, and currently the only, officially recognised system integrator for FLIR thermal imaging cameras.

Prior to now, FLIR have only sold their technology through distribution companies but have never had official partners running their system integration, making this a huge step both for FLIR and Bytronic.

Bytronic sells the full range of FLIR automation cameras:

The FLIR A65 / A35 / A15 and A5 are compact, low-cost infra-red cameras. The range allows buyers to choose the quality of the image produced, as some applications may require higher quality imaging.

The FLIR Ax8 combines both thermal and visual cameras. It is capable of monitoring continuously, and raising an alarm if necessary, making it useful for the protection of important machinery and electrical equipment.

Meanwhile the FLIR A315 / A615 series once again provides you with a choice in image quality, along with full PC control.

The practical applications of thermal cameras and our bespoke system integration software are wide and varied.

Stewart Jackson, Bytronic’s Technical Sales Manager, comments: “We are excited to see the new applications that can be solved using the thermal camera technology. We have already seen applications to detect the previously unseen hotmelt glue to detect if application has been good, and are seeing a lot of requirements in the fire prevention area for waste sites, using the cameras to automatically activate water cannons. There is a lot of potential to use this technology in areas where traditional cameras have been unable to solve the problem”

A recent project involved Bytronic applying the FLIR technology to assist with checking the integrity of packed boxes of a household name beer brand.

As part of a fully integrated quality control system, the FLIR thermal imaging camera is providing a focused readout of the temperature of the glue used to secure the flaps of the boxes.

By ensuring that the glue is the right temperature, and has been applied to the correct areas in the desired quantity; the manufacturer can be certain that the boxes are stuck together thoroughly, and are safe to be moved ready for transport. By detecting the temperature using one of the FLIR cameras, the entire end process of the system is streamlined and optimised for the highest level of efficiency.
