IT Company has China in it sights

A Warwickshire IT firm is heading to the land of the rising sun this spring to export its cutting edge technology,

Last March,Bytronic Automation Ltd, which is based at the University of Warwick Science Park's Warwick Innovation Centre, was the only UK Company selected from numerous applicants for an important trade mission to Japan. Bytronic bosses held talks with several big businesses in the Orient and entered into a major alliance with a firm which produces bottling, packaging and labelling services in the food and drink sector.

The company specialises in high performance computer based monitoring systems which uses the internet to log production from factories around the world. They are now preparing for a follow up mission to a March Trade Fair in Tokyo in an attempt to secure more business in the Far East market for their technology which ensures production lines run efficiently.

David Bradley, Business Development Manager at Bytronic said:"We are going on the trade mission this year because last year's visit was such a success and to build ont he contacts we made there. A great deal of production is going over to China and while the quality is absolutely superb, they have not got the key aspect of being able to control the machinery in this way". Bytronic already provides technology to many production plants across Europe, including a major deal with soft drinks giant Coca-Cola to supply its LineView system.

Since the last trade trip last March, Bytronic delegates have made further trips to Japan and Thailand to support its partner organisation. The company moved into the University of Warwick Science Park seven years ago and through expansion it has moved into larger offices several times. In that period the company has grown at a significant rate.

John Barnes, Manager of the University of Warwick Science Park's Innovation Centre, said "Bytronic are going from strength to strength and they epitomise what the Science Park is all about. They started out as a small business and now they are attracting contracts from all over the globe."
